The State CET CELL of Maharashtra Exam 2018(MH CET)

MH CET Law is abbreviated form of Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for Law. MH CET Law is a first ever state level entrance exam conducted by Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Maharashtra for admissions to five-year integrated and three-year LLB programmes offered by various law colleges in Maharashtra. MHCET law is also known as Maharashtra Law CET. 

The DHE conducts the test for the for the candidates seeking admission in Law colleges of Maharashtra. Notification of the Maharashtra Law Cet are not out yet but it is expected to start from March 2018. MH CET Law will be conducted in the month of May 2018. The application process is expected to start from the month of March and will continue till 1st of May tentatively. To be eligible for MH CET candidate need to satisfy certain eligibility criteria. In this article we will discuss every information required to take MH CET Law exam.

MH CET 2018 Exam Dates

The official notification of MHCET would be out by February 2018. The conducting body of the Maharashtra law cet that is Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Maharashtra, will start the application process from the month of February and will conclude on 1st of May 2018. The MH CET exam would be conducted in the last week of May. Result of the same would be announced in the first week of June.

After the exam the interview and the counseling process will take place in the end of June 2018 and the session will start in the month of August. Please refer the table below for the dates of

MH CET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates can apply only after they satisfy the given eligibility criteria. Eligibility criteria will vary on various factors like age nationality and program applied. Below we have mentioned the eligibility criteria for LLB (5 years integrated) and LLB (3 years separately).

  • A candidate should be an Indian national.
  • Aspirants must have the domicile of Maharashtra state
Academic Qualification

LLB (5 years) course

  • Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from any recognized board.
  • Applicants must have 45% in the qualifying exam and 40% for reserved categories.

LLB (3 years) course

  • Candidate should not be more than 20 years of age for 5 years integrated LLB
  • Candidate must hold the graduate or postgraduate degree from any recognized institution in any stream.
  • Aspirants must have 45% in the qualifying exam and 40% for reserved categories.

Application Form and Registration

Application process for MH CET will start from the month February 2018. Application process is online. Before making the application candidates have to register themselves for the MH CET 2018 exam. For registration of the application candidates need a active mobile number and email Id. After making the registration candidate then need to fill the detailed application form. After filling the application form candidates need affix a scanned passport size photograph and image of a signature. The application process will complete after the submission of the application fees.

MH CET Law 2018 Application Fees

At the time of making application, candidates need to pay the application fees. Application fees for the MHCET is INR 650 for the candidates from the general category and INR 350 for the candidate from reserved category. After submitting the application fees, candidates application would be able to submit the application form. Detailed table of application fees is mentioned below.

  • SC : 15 % of total seats
  • ST :7.5 % of total seats

  • Bar council identity card with photograph
